Thanks guys, it was actually quiet surreal! I was twitching the stickbait slowly, much like fishing a X-Rap Walk in an estuary when BAM!!! It was smashed by that Marlin. I will never forget the experience.

How did you fish the dropshot? cast far over the reef and leave to sink to the bottom then quick retrieve?

Fished the dropshot by dropping it down on the windward side of the boat, then whipping it up. Basically vertical jigging with a soft plastic on a jig head.
