A bad days fishing is better than sitting at home moping.

Saturday was a long day and a long sad story. Greg Fuller, Tara and Chris Engler joined me for the trip, we had a game plan all sorted, target tunny so we launched at 04h15 and headed out, bait was scarce and we battled, fished off the Sh**  pipe, down to the cutting then back to the Sh**  pipe then chased dolphins off the stadium, it was non stop action and the fish were there but so were the sharks, we finally beached at 15h30. Chris fought a monster for 15min before being taxed, we tried forcing the fish, letting them free spool nothing helped plus there was a 4km per hr South - North current. In the end we had 15 fish hooked, 10 eaten by sharks, 4 tackle failures (from pulling too hard) and 1 fish of 12 kg boated which was airborne on two occasions with a shark in pursuit and had the scares to prove the attack. All in all an awesome day on the water with a lot of action but far too many fish lost to sharks which is a great pity. Greg had an 80lb rig and we could not stop some of the fish. Till next time.

Unlucky there Oompa  :uzi: :brnz:

We did a late launch at 1pm as Anthony had to take FFF jnr for district cricket trials, travelled to the ships down to Umhloti back along the coast line and beached at 5, was a nice sea cruise with no fish

Launched yesterday and went to target some tuna, well the sharks were out in full force once again and ate everything that was hooked. To those who say the sharks are endangered they need to spend a morning on the boat with me to see how many fish are wasted to the bastards. swr <:

Late launch yesterday, took three lighties fishing, great fun all round but it got a bit bumpy for one of them :cnfzd
Ended up with my Omoto almost getting spooled (it only holds about 250m of 20lb) and ended up with a 14kg YFT - live moz on a 9/0 circle hook.
Sharks were full up on the reefs and I saw three other fish taxed including a huge dollie and a nice queenfish on one boat!!
