Nice Chigger, i would have also tagged and released the Dorrie, put price tag and release into the hatch
Howzit Reefs, I launched with Don and we got a Dorries of 7 kg's. We did a binneland and coastal thing on one boat Launching tomorrow, I am sure it will be a ZOO at DSBC.
Hello Gents and Ladies.Happy New year!!I think we were the first to launch yesterday at 04H30 in some lovely rough seas and were rewarded with a full fish hatch of Dorado. No babalas paid of quite handsomely, great start to the new year.I believe over a 100 boats have launched this morning.
Tough one on the Dorries mate, all those boats must have made it look like the cuta classic

But even with night rated guys now queues are forming.
We fished off port edward yesterday. Was the first boat to launch at Glenmore and were at backline at 4:30 am.We got bait easily off TO strand and head straight out for warm water. I found 26deg purple water on the 80m mark and we started our drift. Current was screaming in a southerly direction at 7km/h. We had no luck in the deep so i started a slow troll with live bait back in toward the 50m. At about 55m we went tight with a nice dorrie, and after a quick fight she was in the hatch. It then went dead.I moved even shallower to a spot that consistantly produces fish for me, and even though the water was 22 degrees on the inside, we went double up with dorries within 3mins on our first drift. We lost one and as the other was nearing the boat, i pitched a bait at its mate and went tight. Handed the rod to my Dads cousin and the fish shook the hooks. We ended up boating 3 fish and long line releasing a good few. Was awesome to have my ballie and his cousin on the boat and get them some fish!!Lower South Coast is still my favourite place to fish!! Will be going to target marlin there soon, with 26-27deg water and big drop offs, they must be around!!
Well done on the fish guys, Chris I will give you a call about Mauritius fishing sometime soon (I need to find the contact details) we had some good fun on LT with plenty skipjacks(ski boat) some dollies but no marlin on our half day charter.
