Just spoken to Clint Nortje, the angler who caught that bus couta - it was indeed on the boat "Off Season" during a comp at Vidal, caught on a drift sard with a duster! Clint says he was fishing 10kg IGFA which is an amazing meritorius fish!

Kieran and myself were invited to fish sat with a friend of his from school. They have a boat at DSBC so was easier than towing our boat through.

We launched about 04:30 and went to the bait spots to collect bait. Was a bit of a struggle getting bait as there were a lot of big shad being a pest. Both Kids got some really good sized shad but season was still closed so threw them all back.

After a bit of a discussion what to do we decided to take the kids out to the ships and try for a Dorrie. First drift past the ship both rods away Kierans came off and his friend Kayden lost his. Leader broke off. I lined them up again and the 2nd drift both rods went away again. After a good fight were at one stage i thought that maybe they had the same fish as the lines stayed together for the whole fight. Up came 2 bonnies. 7.8kg and 8kg.
Kierans friend was not feeling so good so we called it a day.

Some nice size Bonnies.  Always a problem with the kids getting sick (and a lot of adults including me).  Try Adco Cyclizine 50mg tablets. This stuff works as I get very sick and only tablets that works and no after effects. Drink in morning 1-2 hours before launch. Keep packet on boat as well.

Thanks Alfu. I also tell people to take those too. Very good sea sick tablets.
Kieran and i take nothing now days and seem to be fine. It was his friend who got sick. I think it was also the fact that it was his first time fishing by the ships and being so close to the ships can be something all on its own.
