Not sure I can make it this weekend, to much on the go. Maybe next weekend, I'll keep you posted.

Unlucky there Mike, hope it gets sorted.

Hi guys and Chris and Ed, I did wet the engines but there were problems with the wiring, which will be sorted out this week. I left the boat in Durbs, in other words it was not a good weekend. :-(

Went through a road block yesterday in Maydon Wharf and saw your boat. They had been pulled over. So was wondering.
Anyway hope they get the problems sorted out for you.
Now you have an excuse to come fishing again, hopefully the weather will be better.

Know how you feel had it for the last week. Been man down for three days now. Might take my boat to Inanda just to run the motors tomorrow . Will do them some good to get fress water through them, instead of running then on a hose pipe. If any issues get sorted by time warm water gets here. Not normally anything wrong with Yamaha 40's.

Solid snoek there, well done. We launched at 10 and took a mates 9year old son for a ride, pulled raps from the turning bouy to the caissons where we stopped and had great fun with the shad - there are millions about at the moment - the lightie also got a very nice soldier for the pan.
Pulled small raps along the backline back to Suncoast but just  :shd:  :shd:  :shd:   :shd:  :shd:  Great day on the water - roll on summer :-)

Sunday was an absolute weather gift! Flat seas and no wind so we made the most of it. Our search for livebait drew a blank and we opted to rather get to the reefs early and avoid the taxi rank. We got to Sheppy and sounded around till we found a fair showing near the bottom. Sean's first down with bait yielded a massive red (not sure species) and my first down on jig was an on-off. We reset the drift and Sean managed a lekker Captain Fine (+/-3kg) and I got a small amber on jig. In short time 3 other boats puled in and messed the drift up and split the shoal so we moved to another spot. Some more nice bottoms for the guys fishing bait and two tuna for Clint and I on jig (released - a bit on the small side). Our next move was to a deep ledge in 65m of water where we had an absolute cracker of a session. We got 5 ambers in just over an hour - one on bait and the rest on jig. Was great to see Piet get railed on the bait rod with his first amber ever - a respectable fish around the 8kg mark. I got 4 beauties with the biggest going 10kg. We also got reefed twice by big yellowtail - couldn't stop the charge even on full drag. The afternoon session was capped off with a free swimming striped marlin buzzing the boat for around 4 minutes while chaos erupted on deck as we threw everything we had at it! A few chases of the lures and stick bait but no hookup (just as well - we only had grinders with 50lb braid it would've been interesting to say the least!). A great day on the water with good mates.
