Launched today with Francoir a French pilot working for Emarits Airlines.. he called me yesterday morning to book a trip for today. we launched at 6:45 and made our waybout to the North to work the ships for a few hours as he has to be back by 12:30 to head back to the airport to fly back to Dubi.. in any case water temps where good butni found loads of rubbish close to Durbs but once we made it out to the ships the water was much better. we worked around two or 3 ships with nothing.. then on the 4th ship we saw the dorries so we made a quick turn and as we ran up the port side our first rod was away.. followed by the second rod both screaming away with so fantastic acrobastic.. Francoir strapped on a bucked and got to work on the first fish... which turned out to be the female about 7kg but she gave him a good rev.. after baoting her and a quick pic we started on thr second line. and Francior made short work of the bull about 10kg.. after a couple of hi 5s Francoir was ready to head back. so we reset the spread and made out way back workingnomea couple of reefs and ledges on the way.. about 10min later we had the one rigger clip go.. i looked back only to see a small pointy face casing the lure.. but was not commited so i dropped back the lure and tried to entice a solid strick.. when all hell broke loose.. a second Bill showed its self and smashed the short corner making the reel scream to life. .. however the first of the 2 was still messing around with the lure.. so after i strapped François in and let him start on the first one . i went back to sort out the second who by this time had decided to snack the lure properly and also screamed away...so 2 hook ups and two on the boat. .. while Francoir was fighting the first i was just keeping the second on the line so he could have a proper back to back work out... but is was not to be as i leadered the first sailfish.. the second made a solid run and jumped and snapped/Burnt us off... was a pitty. in any case we got some video and pics of the first while trying to revive it... i spent the better part of 30min trying to get some sign on life but saidly it was not to be so i had to make the difficult call to boat the fish and bring her home was a bitter sweet moment. after that we packed up and headed back.. Sailie weighed inat 15.kg.. not a bad morning on the water. will be posting the other vids and pics later
