Had a chat with Rob from Gremlins and they have just launched their new Grinder rods.

At this moment they have two rods made for the grinders. Both rods are T-Flex rods and come in a three piece.

Grinder 2

Three piece rod mainly for edible fishing and the lighter non-eds. The rod has a length of 4,2m and when testing them out we managed a constant 150m+ with a 5oz sinker. The rod is going to come in at a price of R2399-00.

Grinder 3

Also a three piece rod but mainly bult for non-ed fishing. Length of 4,2m. And when testing the rods out we managed a distance of 178m with a 6oz sinker. Price on the rod will be R2479-00.

The guys do have other options for the grinders in 1 piece rods but if you are looking for something to fold down and easy to transport this will be your way to go.

I have not taken my other rods out of their bags since I got my grinder. I only fish with the 400/6 and grinder. My multipliers only see the water when I am sliding in the Transkei and every other guy I know that has gone this way is doing the same.

I will have to watch out when fishing for snoek off the backline, may get caught by a R&S angler.

you probably gona get the bionic finger in the way , the eyes will be reversed and on the opposite side of the blank so the flex will be oppsite to that required for a multiplyer , can be used but not recomended~!

Also remember, a Grinder sits much higher up the blank

Homie with these new rods the guys are fishing with the reel mounted low like a mp you cast with your left hand on the bionic finger. Basically what I started doing when I bought your elbe and everyone chirped I was a chop! The problem with mounting the reel higher as I understand is it become very hard to crank with it at like chest height therefore you end up with the rod butt under one arm leading to some unique bruising

Jokes aside for me it is the ease of throwing a grinder plus the added distance and sensitivity of braid.
