What about Tesingane at Bazley for snoek - anyine had experience there - it was great for shad when they were around

No worries bud, the invetation is open.

The photo you got here is of xmas bay. Take the same road as the one you take to xmas bay, just pul in to the parking half way down. You have to walk back and then you will find a (Hiden ) pathway. Walk down till you get to the beach and Daves is in front of you.

Just watch the place on the incomming water. You will either get wet or walk away with injuries.

After talking to the very helpful Ignobilis - Me and my fishing buddy have decided to go to Beechwood at dawn tomorrow - hardly any wind and small surf - sounds good

And if I blank - its back to walking my dogs in the bluff and catching blacktail - while that aerocast of mine is being made into knitting needles - anyone need a jersey?

This morninh I officially applied for memebrship to my wifes knitting club....!!!

Blanked at beachwood. Arrived at dawn and threw lures until 8am - walked about a kilometer south from the car park towards Blue Laggon. Wind and waves were friendly.

Apart from me and my buddy, there were two other people throwing lures as well - everyone blanked.

We saw some movement of Snoek (a couple jumping out of the water), but out of casting range. I was only managing to get 90m out - and the movement was at least 30m beyond that.

There were a few boats patrolling the backline, with rods out, but it did not seem as if they were catching either.

After deciding to leave, we took a drive down to Blue lagoon and saw a couple of guys throwing lures - they also blanked. The one guy said that, although he had caught his fair share in the past, the last week produced nothing except a small kingie in the channel.

I am now looking forward to "one plain one perl, skip a stitch etc" Question is, can you knit a scarf with braid?

Been there, done it, don't want to go back... Fishing is like the italian mob, once you in, there's no way out! You went fishing this morning, when everybody else was facing traffic on their way to work... What else do you need? Fish? Who needs fish? LOL

But I must admit, a sweater made of braid would last forever!!! LOL

Only problem has no stretch, and as time passes there are areas that will require a bit of stretch. Ziggy I would rather blank than be sitting in traffic / work as JF said. They do get snoek off Beachwood in the holes and where there is a bit of a rip.

Bad morning. I was on my ski off Umdloti this morning. Water is cold, green and dirty!! Saw a couple of snoek come out but deeper out (300m plus from the tidal pool) and 1 lone small couta.

Dont beat your self up as 99.98% of the people likely blanked this morning. But it was a cracking morning & sure as hell beats sitting in traffic!

PS 99.99% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

John - I have been fishing for 45 odd years now - and have NEVER been able to find a way out!! You are right....I have always siad that I go fishing, I dont go to catch fish - catching a fish is always a bonus.....and over the years I have had many bonuses - large and small, all over the world....Yes, i am lucky, especially since I dont have to work everyday - and can go fishing any time that I want...with or without a jersey made of braid

that area you refer to has been stretched and shrunk and stretched again a good many times ove my life!

I dont doubt that there are snoek there - they just did not recognise me! I need to fish there a few times more to get used to the place - I usually fish off rocks where I can easily recognise the gulleys - fishing off a sandy beach always seems so sterile to me- and not as easy to read and find the holes (although I understand and know all the basic priciples of reading the water, I dont always seem to apply them!)

Maybe my new found knitting group can counsel and advise me

Hi guys, here are some of the spoons that I use for the snoek.

The first picture is of the flat shallow v-back spoons.

Length: 80mm
Width : 16mm
Thick : 4mm
Weight : 25gr before any hard tack.

The second picture is of three bullits in a 30gr and the two bigger ones are 55gr. With one being flatter and wider then the other.

And lastly some good lumo stickers for when I need them.

Very Very nice!

I find that the candy ones get severely bashed on the rocks and look terrible after a while

And the Chase are nowhere near as shiny as uors - Last night I buffed the two I have with Silvo and fine steel wool and they look a lot better (but the snoek did not care ths morning!)

I hope ypur weekend fishing goes well - and I will be seriously sick if you catch some snoek!
