Guys;thanks for the feed back. was wondering how fishing is off shore?shore fishing is really hard in certain areas. should we catch fish from the surf, the price per kg is sky-high.and your hook-up vs, landing rate?how does that compare?maybe one day, whhen i'm bigg, i wanna get me something to ride the water.jetski seems to be "selfish" and a boat is big. and then you still need to convert to 4*4 and convert fishing equipment to off shore.not really a cheap exercise.ss
TunamanThanks for the info. i still do like sand or rocks underneath my feet.i normally visit st lucia and cape vidal and have never tried going out deepsea.i do know some of the charters in st lucia, but remain standing on sand.3 years ago we went to Vidal for a month. We caught 6 fish offshore for the month. 1 Kaakaap, 3 tunas and 2 dorado.Just for that trip I worked out that we paid in total about R4500 per kilo taking into account we let the tunas go again. So it can get tough out there shore fishing is realy hard work, so, how does it compare to off shore?the cost per kg was just interesting, the kingie in my avatar........took me six years to get it.the mounting charges was R3800, the transport ............................ too much to calculate, i would argue R1071 per kg, the fish was 28kg
A fish that size and the six years it took to catch I am sure is priceless, some people try all their lives to get one like that. Well done
