Would absolutely love to Rory but next week-end is already fully booked with family responsibility stuff.  I am however heading out to the river this week-end with one member of the United Nations (The good doctor's son). Not sure where yet - either Eastco or Oord Nebo. Might give Eastco a try and make sure the likkewaan is fully awake to scare the living sh1t out of all the newbies on your trip next week-end.

There is a chance that I might bring a friend along for the day next weekend.
Will confirm next week.

Will do - with the high flows we had I reckon the river is still full of food and the clarity is going to be a bit shocking to say the least.
Will have to use search patterns such as hot head brassies etc.
My favourite flies for Eastco have always been a normal GRHE in conjunction with a Mustard Caddis control but I guess I will have to try something else this week-end.

My tip would be a Humpy's Favourite fished with an orange tungsten bead black nymph.

Seems as the flows are a rollercoaster at the moment.
Just reely hope it will settle by next week.

Sorry that I've been so scarce.

The flows are looking good, and barring a cyclone should stay that way.

I still need to contact Eastco, ito a discount for numbers, but will do so before next Friday.

At this late stage, I must re-iterate Rory's advice. Have decent footwear guys. Sandals, Rockies, or barefoot will just leave you in pain, as well as p!ssed off.

Also wading sticks. A broom handle, cut off at rib height, drill a hole through one end, through which you attach about 2m of ski rope, and then nail a rubber stopper on the other end.

Wrap some insulation tape around the top for your "handle" ( to avoid splinters ) and you are done. w;k
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

I will do a tutorial on the broom wading stick this weekend, takes 5mins to make.

Gumboots will fill with water and you will drown, rather use an old pair of tackies, then we can fall together.

I think there should be a straf dop for everyone that falls.

Ask rory and herman, last time I was with them I fished in old tackies and did not fall once!
This time I have a wading stick and I know that I will have a dip! IF you walk carefully you should be fine

Quick -  I have to agree with ICstuff here, rather wear a pair of trainers/takkies. Surprisingly, safety boots actually make very good wading boots, as well as those canvas military type boots.
