I had one a few weeks back that took my finger print off when it took off while I was putting the elastic band on the outrigger! They fight hard, buggers!

.....what is the Club record, have any 60kg Plus YFT been caught in the deep off Inhaca?

Nothing like that. We don't get the big YFT that the guys get in Richards bay. The current is quite far from here. The heaviest yellowfin I've heard weighted 45 kg and it was caught in the cockburn area on a couta trace!!!!!

Interesting, we got given a proper Hiding at Cockburn in Dec by what I think was big YFT.....

Launched yesterday morning at 5am from Club Naval and stop at the shallow banks but no cuda’s for the take.
Follow where the sun rose and manage to get 4 skippies in a jiffy.
While rigging them (1 at a time) live they all died before i could get them in the water. At least no.4 survived.
Dragging him for 2 hours, swimming like an Olympic medalist the rubber on the rigger shot, feeding the bait till i could not kept up and slowly increase the drag, the mighty rose from the deep. Dancing and jumping was his response to the hoop-up.
2 hours and 10 minutes later on 50lb i successfully release about 120kg black marlin caught on a circle hook (my 1^st on circle)
What a day, return to the Club at 5pm with a very calm see.

Mmmmmmm may i can get another trip this week coming......

Got a joint b-day party tomorrow at 13:00. But the weather man says the sea will be fishable...

Couple of whatsapp messages and it's on: going to launch at 4:30 and back at 12ish... spring tide with flat seas (and promises of good couta) is something I can't resist! Let's see if I can get them couta without hooking myself up!

The billfish season is in full swing!!! Kambaku had a grand slam of 3 marlin (black, blue and stripe) out of 8 strikes last saturday. Yesterday "My Girl" also released a marlin.

My freezer is full of couta so I guess it's time for some long trolling sessions out in the deep with the big guns!!!

Straight East off the lighthouse... +/- 400 m.... troll around... try to be there at changing tides. This obviously is for blues and stripes

The Poco area (100-200 m) has also seen some black marlin action

We had a bit of a crisis 2 weeks ago... all sorted... for now...

As you know all taps have been closed with regards to foreign aid to Moz... which means +60% of the state budget... more importantly it means no convertible currency (USD, Euro...) in the hands of the Gov... which, finally means no money to pay for fuel. We'll see what the future holds...

Also, we have the cheapest fuel in the region ... actually Moz is supporting quite a large black market of fuel in Zim, etc... subsidized by a bankrupted Gov...

Don't want to jinx your trip but have you seen the forecast for next week?! Hope you come well stocked with plenty of patience, light tackle for bay fishing and .... booze!!!
