That looks like a comment to me.

What's so disturbing to you?

Is it the number of fish caught or the fact that they were put on the floor for the pic?

Great day out by the look of things. Looks like more than two people can eat, surely a bit of catch and release could have been practiced!remember sustainable.

I would hope that when you Debben okes catch and eat fish, you don't sit there an guzzle it by yourself, but share it with family and friends. A couple in the freezer doesn't hurt either

I agree.
This is a rare catch for these guys. They don't often get near their bag limits... once every 6 months to a year? No problem for me. If they were doing this every weekend, then I would have a serious problem with it.

Hey guys,

I have been instructed to leave a brief comment of the fishing trip yesterday.

We went north to Boia Perdida, for the 50 meters ledge, we saw a lot of seagulls and no biting all morning one YFT came to the boat and one lost.
We tried drifting with sardine for a bit while it was raining

and nothing.

Then around 1PM they starting biting, a lot of action and not many bites, enought another 9 Tunas.
One of them was a 23kg YFT beast and another same size took my gaf and manage to escape the hook.

Well i could put some pictures but i have been advised not too.

congrats again on the catch...shame the other bus took off with the gaff and got loose...I wonder how can a gaff float!!!!

maybe we can work on that matter this weekend...I'll try and find If I have some diving belt and I'll sew some nice and confy handles for the gaff

due to presidential elections, yesterday was a off day at the office...and because I'm not an eligible voter we decided to launch 4play as a test day for the coming comp
plan was to do a bit of all...fish for the pot...billfishing...and a bit of spinning and jigging

we launched at 5:40 with flat seas and overcast...with some wind and rain predicted for the day
at about 6:30 and just off Inhaca we had a incident that could have been worst...at 22knt we hit a couple of whales that came off (out of the blue) 5mts from the boat
no time for any reaction...we went over them...nothing damaged on 4play and we stopped there for a while to watch the whales behaviour...they kept swimming like nothing has happened
eisha...what a nightmare...I wonder what could have happened on a small boat

by 7:00 lines were out and soon we start having some action...some skipjack were caught...and some were lost
then we got some YFT...all on the 7/8kg mark
when we start heading out to the billfish fishing grounds we had a stress call from Yolanda that was running on only 1 engine and that same engine was somehow faulty as well...as we had Yamaha mechanic aboard we assisted them for some to do's to try and sort out the problem...most probably fuel issues

so we turned back to stay in the area to assist them if needed
we kept fishing the area and got 1 surprising dorie on the 4/5kg mark
when Yolanda call to say that they were back to 2 working engines after following some of the suggested procedures they relief us for fishing...so we stick to our plan and headed out to the 400mts marks
we had a wahoo...some more tuna...and a very hungry saily
another surprising fish...at 400/450mts depth...I guess not that unusual as it's the second we have on that area
he went first to the long rigger but didn't commit...I did 2/3 draw back but nada and while doing this procedure he went for the short rigger...same story...no commitment and same procedure...2/3 draw back...that's when he went again for the first lure (on the long rigger)
set the hooks properly and we were on
on the first aerials I said...big saily...all aboard were insisting on a small marlin
after a 15min fight we were able to hold his bill...tag...revive and release
I was happy for the rest of the day...no more fish for me

we kept working that area and heading towards Poco radio active area...with some strong strikes but non commiting...
getting to Poco we found the bait ball and the showings...cleared the lines and jigged and spinned for a while
got some bonnies, some rainbow runners...got reefed a few times and then it was time to head back home
trolled a bit more...can caught some more tuna and by 15:45 we call it off...lines out and bumpy ride to Maputo with the wind blowing quite a bit

very good fun aboard with ricoliveira84 being the top fisherman...not loosing a single hook up...either trolling...or jigging...or even spin/jigging (new technique Ricardo found he can cast the jigs)
pics will follow as soon as I have some time...as I was the deckie didn't have the chance for footage...I will have to go trough the gopro from the cabin for some snapshots
