Cape Vidal accommodation...Grrrrr

I am soooo frustrated 

I have been trying for more than a year now to find accommodation at Vidal over school holidays without luck! Everytime they come back and say"ehhh Sorry Ser, fully booked"!
I called amonth ago to book for the longweekend end of April 2011 and they said bookings have not opened yet for that period. I called today...Guess what " ehhh Sorry Ser, fully booked!"

okay , so lets try for Dec 2011. Bookings are not yet open for Dec2011 and they cannot tell me when it is going to open...WTF and WTF again.

I dont know who to mug, murder, bribe or bliks!m to get in.          I can only go over school holidays or looong weekends as the kids are at school and its the only time I can get away from the lab a little.

Anyone have any contacts or tips... I've been going to Vidal for most of my life  and would like to go there again before I die of old age!!

We always have to book on a specific date from the Pietermaritzburg offices. But usually they can tel you when it will open.

Thanks Jean, ek het ook so gedink maar laas toe se hulle vir my ek moet maar my naam maar op die waglys hou. Hulle kon nie vir my se wanneer die bookings vir Des'11 oopmaak nie. Hulle sal MY kontak as ek plek kry( asof dit sal gebeur!)

Werries - ja dit is 'n  om plek te kry , die beste tyd om jou bespreking vir Des  te doen is op die eerste dag van Feb elke jaar d.m.v e-mail en dit so gou moontlik tebevestig dat hul jou e-mail ontvang het. en dan elke maand op tevolg - so ver was ek nog gelukkig om plek te kon kry op die manier. December booking opens on the 1st of Feb, but be warned, load of people going over this time know each other and they ALL book by fax/email directly after midnight on that day.
 
In general, it is almost impossible to get a school holiday / public holiday spot there unless you book 8 months in advance.

Thanks Nico, I have now set my phone's calendar reminder for the 31st Jan to book for December...so lets hold thumbs!

I have now booked to go to Inhaca Island lodge for the 10 days end April ( me thinks it is a good compromise  )
