Namibia fishing regulations

Hi

Has anyone seen the new fishing regulations in Namibia? I have read through the documents and understand that if you want to bring fish back to SA you have to pay the fees according to species and weight? Do I understand it correctly? And then secondly the new fishing permits at almost R1500 per month? that's seem like daylight robbery to me.

You only need a import permit from South Africa side to bring the fish in

Just stick to the quantity limit and you will be safe and all fish must be in a hole state and size limit

Well this will be the end of our group trips every Feb ,  normally we hire a house/s and go for 2 to 4 weeks , Pensioners staying longer and the employed making shorter trips in relay fashion.    I am sure the landlords/restaurants/and bottle stores will protest , hopefully they change fees and the classification of recreational fishermen as a result .

The only hope we have is that they havent given a date as to when it will be inforced. Wonder if one buy a yearly permit know for R140 something if it will still be valid when new price inforced?

I already sent and email to Simen asking if that will be possible, My plan was to visit Henties next year in March

Looks like you can also buy pro rata per day but its still the same rate, 50X30 is 1500 or 50X7 or 50 per day.

It is N$50 per  day or up to 1500....  At present all must bay this permit for entertainment and eating or selling Until Namibia define who poor as i understood. It went from N$14 to N$1500.00.

It seems as though the Nam authorities bowed to the public uproar...
Fees reverted back to what they were... unconfirmed.
