Considering the Shimano Exage 10ft Medium Spinning Rod and Exage 10000FC Spinning Reel for YT this year.

Would this be an ideal set up for around Cape Town? Thinking 50lb braid.

Hi,I got this awesome fish last week at Transkei.Got it on a 11ft daiwa exceller elite and a saragosa 6000 using 15lb powerpro and a .65 leader. The outfit handled the fish easily around the bricks and i was able to keep the fish on the surface when i needed too.So you dont have to go too heavy in my opinion.Fish was 15kg.

Sorry for the tilted image guys.Regarding the 15lb braid,it was the power pro spectra braid so its quite thick for the 15lb rating.Im sure  30lb class braid will do.

Great fish, especially on that gear!  Apart from one particular spot, your chances of landing that fish here in False Bay from shore on such light gear would be slim to none.  Kelp is the great equaliser!  I'd suggest gear that can handle 40lb braid and cast up to 100g as a minimum.
