the hardest hit is the boating and commercial sector

Our increases are more or less in line with CPIX i guess.

But there is a new thing about children under 12 needing an angling permit.  Anyone got any light on this?

Hey guys


Ok so I didn't read all the posts so I might be behind. I have wanted to fish Gilloolys Farm for years, did once about 5 years ago and caught a decent barbel but then got kicked out. Tried going back on a few occasions but was told to leave because I needed a fresh water angling license....and for ages I searched. If this helps at all today I got one pretty easily. I went to 11 Diagonal Street in Newtown JHB , went to the 15th floor, paid R40, went to the permits office on the ground fllor and was out in 20 mins or less. Now I can fish wherever I want and if the cops come I can tell them to duck,and thats what they said to me. Take cash as they do not have a card system.....hope this helps

Last time I was at Gilloollys they had banned fishing completely? (A few weeks a go)

And can they ban fishing on a government owned property ??? Did you have a license on you?

Spoke to the owner of the restaurant, and he said they have banned any form of fishing there...
