Getting back into fly tying
« on: June 26, 2014, 10:13:39 AM »
Here are some of my latest creations from the vice. Im really enjoying getting back into tying my own fly its a lot more rewarding when you do catch a fish on your own creation.

Awesome flies,
Here's some advice for working with bucktail. I see the bucktail in your clouser flares up. Use the top 3rd (thinner hair) section of the bucktail for tying clousers and the like, the hair will sit nice flush with the hook shank, use the bottom 3rd (thicker hair) of the bucktail for spinning (bass bugs etc.), and the centre pieces you can use for things like deceivers whistlers etc.
