Enjoy it! Depending on flows I will either be fishing YFP, a spot above the barrage or checking out a bass place near Edenvale. Decisions, decisions . . .

Had a quick 3hr session yesterday afternoon, it was pretty good I got 7 fish 5 yellows and 2 muddies, nothing huge but great fun. the river seemed to be a bit up but I did not check the flows.

This is marks fish the only one I managed to get a photo off.The wind was howling, and I am a bit rusty!

I also went to Arendsnes yesterday. Got 5 yellows and 3 muddies. I have found that if you go high up the river the crowds stay behind. The fish was not partial to any particular fly. I caught them on hotspot PTN’s, white plummerstape caddis, olive caddis and the star of the day “Humpy’s Favorite”. The “Humpy favorite’ accounted for the fish of the day. A yellow of 3.1kg. I will post the pic as soon as I get it.

I took my boet to GVP yesterday. Flows were rowable ( upstream 2 up, 1 paddler ).

My boet decided not to fish, but watch, a bit nerving as he taught me to fish when I was 5.

I had a corker of a morning though.  :sml:

According to Jan, I got 2 yellows and 12 muddies in the normal 3 hours fishing. Never got to measure the biggest yellow, ( long line release  <: ) but had a good look at it, guestimate around 3.5kg.

The muddie hole is kooking, virtually cast for cast and a hookup. Got 8 out of there in 1 hour, then started to get crowded by others who had waded up.

Decided that I had had a good morning and gave over the spot to the "hungriest " wader. :dunno:

Somehow, I don't think he was watching closely enough, as by the time we had packed up and left, I don't think he had hooked a fish. :dunno: :dunno:

Anyway , another brilliant morning on the Vaal.  fshg :happ: :happ:
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".
