Raggies....if you dont get raggies you dont win in Struis! Simple as that. Conditions are crap and the raggies have been few and far between. Water is clean and they have completely the wrong wind blowing. Hope the condotions improve for the A Nats!

Today is the rest day but the action will be on again tomorrow. Back to the sand they go and I hope the fish can come in. Nothing worse than a Nationals with min fish.....then it comes down to luck vs skill....and that is never a nice battle when fishing is the game!

WP have got a very strong team and with Charl Marais guiding them and Gunther managing them they can just concentrate on pulling fish. All things being equal they should defend that gold from last year.

Thanks for the info Craig .

Funny is usually the Banana boys has a hard time down here , and Border at the worst of times Strong  anywhere .
Very suprised about Boland  posision .
Bigger swell came throught the night , Stil very poor condisions in Struis it self , Dont know about the Other areas .

I got 3 Decent Elf last night , 40cmr's . There was not alot at al and I was one of the few that got more that 1 .

Clear skies and windless days are only good for the Boats , Large Geelbek has been caught and some Kob , and still some Tail , on the 8th of FEB , the Jolly rodger landed a Striped Marlin of 80 kgs , and managed to bring another two to the surface , with out getting strikes .

Graig are you going to fish the A nationals ?

WP made the right choice for management of the team, just show you how important it is to have the right people in place.

Hope Boland can improve there log position.

Jokes aside , You guys are eating at our Church , the Tannies are cooking up a storm there from very early in the Morning , sure you will have full bellies .and I am there too , but washing dishes , Eish , they caught me there  LOL Thats about the only thing , I , know.
And that certain teams has arranged not to sit close or next to each other ... Which one can understand its a serious affair . The commity sit and  has a view of the whole group , sussing the guys out ... hahaha

Thanks Graig .

I have good news and good news in the Rock and surf front .
There was a giant Duckbill caught last night , whitebait in front of Nostra , biggest one I have seen in YEARS , very skikfully played by the angler , that small corner are a hard place to fish even though most of the area are sand , theres a nice very deep hole , and the edges are covered with rocks and sharp things . You cast in that hole , and you will go tight , just a matter of are you lucky enough to get him out of there . We have taken some really good fish there , BIG Grunts , Steenbrass / Kob Elf , Crackers , but you gotta know what your doing .

Wind is SE , swell is stirring up nicely and from Monday The Rock and surf will COOOOKKKK .
.WE are gonna make a session with livebaits on monday , Suiderstrand or Loodswaai Area .

Heyyyy, and we got  two areas where the mullets are full up, hope the wind keeps them there till monday \

It is a beautiful sunny day in Struisbaai and the anglers are out in force and some areas have really good colour. The guys that were out on the boats came back with good numbers of Yellowtail and some of the fish are massive!!  :envy
