I have been through many kinds of fishing shoes - gumboots, tackies, salomans etc etc - all have the same problem for me - allways fill up with sand. A few months ago I bought a pair of croc type shoes with a solid strap over the ankle. Best so far - sand washes out no problem. Mnages to grip on the rocks also. The only downside is that there is no real ankle support- cheap ones expensive ones
