Hi Half-Pint, the fishing is definitely slower in Transkei estuaries over the colder winter months. There are still fish to be caught there though. Sometimes we find less numbers, but some good quality fish. Species such as kob and garrick can be prolific in winter, so it is worth targeting them. Shad also come into the estuaries in winter. Fish such as river snapper, kingies and perch definitely don't feed as well during winter, but they are still there. I find that in winter you have to fish even slower and deeper. This is where soft plastics fished slowly on the bottom are ideal.
