Hi there sanetras,

I do not have any co-ords in electronic format for malongane, but there was an article in the GO FISH magazine about three to four months ago covering the do ouro, malongane and mamoli reefs, depths and co-ords of these reefs.  If you do not come right I can always fax you the article....

Let me know.

There are two types of fisherman - those who fish for sport and those who fish for fish.

Hi sanetras,

Cant help you off-hand, but if you dont come right before the time, go speak to one of the dive camp skippers named Derrick and say Clive referred you and asks nicely he helps you.

Must warn you that the dive operators of Ponta D'Ouro and Malongane dont like ski-boats fishing on, over or near the diving reefs. Also its an unwritten rule at Ponta Malongane that they do not allow bottom fishing and if you are found to beach with bottoms and they know that they came off the diving reefs (those mentioned above) you will stand a good chance that they will deny you access to launch again.

Pellagics fishing is not a problem.

An inside secret, which few people know and realise, the entire area off-shore Malongane and northwards is covered by reefs so with a fair sounder you should not have a problem to locate hundreds more reefs.

I see you have posted this under the Billfishing section, what species are you looking to target as this will determine which marks I will give you as I have loads for that area, but you will need to earn those  :hehe: :hehe: but its easier to give you certain areas as you will just get confused with the whole load of em.

Sailies, work the 50m mark and look for bait. Just stick to the 50m contour. If you get  a strike, work the area, they are often in packs. According to the dive guys they always see them in packs of 5 or 6.
