Outboard Service - DIY article?
« on: July 17, 2010, 10:18:17 AM »
Hi guys, I have a little 30hp Mariner 2 stroke late 90's model. I want to service the motor myself. How about an article with guidelines, tips and advice for us DIY enthusiasts? I also want to replace the impellor or should I leave that for the professionals? All help will be appreciated.  :tkx:

Replacing the impeller is very easy ,try and get hold of the Clymer workshop manual if you want to do more advanced work

Thanks Searaider, I'll try and find one. My search on the net didn't produce much. I don't want to spend too much money on this and hoped to find a free download.  :cnfzd

Where are the guys with the technical experience? How about a list of do's and dont's. Just basic stuff that the guys on "sea level" can do to help protect and maintain their boats and equipment between services etc. Share your maintenance strategy and know how. What do you always do before and after a day at sea?
