Not much going on down the south coast.
« on: November 23, 2010, 07:41:06 PM »
I have been fishing consistently, but no fish whatsoever.

This week, I got a stone bream and a couple of smooth hounds - and lost what looked like a galjoen.

Lets hope that it improves exponentially.

The most important thing is to ensure that you don't damage his gills. That's where everyone makes a mistake... they hold him over his gills. I have seen it 50 times.

God Bless you all !!

Fished from late afternoon till 3:30am this morning.  6 rods out, 6 live mullet and not even one pickup.

Tried Chokka on 2 rods for a few hours, no luck either, not even a touch.

Who ever would have thought ?

I was at Greenpoint yesterday  - and can you believe it - there was no-one else there!! As you know, the place is always teeming with anglers.

Arrived at 5am and fished to 10am. Sea was calm (1.2-4 m) and wind no wind. Water was clean (maybe too clean).

Two of us were spinning with lures (mainly candies) and two were dropshotting with camo worm.

Nothing was caught on lures - and 5 tiny wave garrick and a nice blacktail were caught on camo worm

The first fisherman arrived there as we were leaving at 10am.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles

Lol Guys - just remember my advice. Put out BIG CHOKKAS and you wont go wrong.  Not much is taking the live bait, but chokka seems to be working.

I am back from armbaths on 29th and then I AM FISHING HARD till the 8th.
