The one thing I forgot to mention was I discovered a new technique for extracting hooks, when my little brother stepped on a treble while fighting a Dorrie. He sunk the hook quite nicely into his big toe all the way to the bend of the hook shank.
The actual technique involves waiting for the Dorrie to put on it's aerial display wait for the yells of excitement then yanking the sucker out wth a pair of long nose pliers while said patient is distracted.
The most important part is packing the offending tackle away so the victim doesn't know it was your rod and trace that caused the injury in the first place.
