Barbel on Fly
« on: January 15, 2019, 09:34:54 AM »
Hi guys, just a quick report went this past Sunday on a day trip with Terence Babich to some private waters he has access too. We where to target barbel and perhaps carp on fly. Firstly Terence is an awesome guide and person, so highly recommend his services ! He knows his story in terms of catching barbel on fly, within a short space of time he had corrected our techniques and we all had a great day catching barbel and carp on fly even thou wind and water temp where not in our favour.

I bought specific barbel flies from Terence and that is what i used for the day. I used my 9weight with a floating line &  20lb leader . My best barbel was 9kg and i got 1 carp and 10 barbel for the day.

Nice Sheldon! A 10 kg barbel must give you a decent rev on a fly rod? How about a pic of the flies used?

Hi bud, not the greatest pic however did not take pics of the flies. Its a large woolly bugger type of fly.

Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.
