serviced my sons torium 20 last night, started at 22:30 and finished at 02:10. i gave it good clean, even used tomatoe sauce, oiled and lubed and sings the song: "zeeeeeee for a very long time". have to say that i really enjoy servicing reels and never do i shy from any repair or clean-up, i guess it comes from the appreciation of catching fish and how the mechanics handle the situation and of course, casting.
although i didnt fit new bearings and drag washers only just the time spent on the service, was excessive. the idea came to mind to google service chargers on reels and what i found was unbeleivable. no need to mention values but it doesnt come close to any hourly rates out on maintenance, ie car sevicing, plumbers (just to name a couple), hell, even delivery charge of my new single couch cost me R600 bucks from fourways to randurg.
a big bow from me to every single reel mechanic out there
