Lifes a drag
« on: April 08, 2016, 04:55:54 AM »
My little Sustain 2500 has always been a great reel. I originally bought it to take on the Queen fish off Dubai which it was great for, but it's tackled Couta back in SA and tons of fish off Sri Lanka now as well, including some solid Golden Trevally.
But the GT I took on it the other day was the straw that broke the camels back, I felt the drag go halfway through the fight and had to help the reel for the rest of the encounter with my finger.
The reel is still mechanically perfect but I'm in need of some new drag washes as you can tell lol.

What line are you using on that small reel
Early birds catches the most worms. Early worms catches the most fish.

I belive that that size 2500 can actually do it that is if that size gt doesn't  go straight to reefs where it will cut you off but it says a lot about shimano
