So there is consensus then!!!

The more money you have the better Medical Aid you'll have and the healthier you will be!

Will have to speak to Julias about these elitist tendancies and get quota's enforced!

Guys as some of the guys have said here. This is a sore point and the fact of the matter is if you dont have big $$$$$ forget about getting your GREEN AND GOLD.I myself have come a long way with offshore fishing and have fished MANY club/mini interprvincial/provincial comps not to mention all the bonanza type comps and social trips over the years. And yes it has cost me a fortune to get there and i am happy to have paid the moola to obtain my SADSA colours for gamefish. But one thing is FOR SURE and that is i will NOT pay the big $$$ to wear the green and gold so i think it is just a matter of opinion how one feels about it once you arrive on that doorstep.I think the guys need more sponsorship for this.Just my 2c worth.

Easy Kumz, if they want to participate and qualify, they have to pay like everybody else. Either themselves or the Government.

Heaven forbid if Government should shift the responsibility on the shoulders of the relevent Soprts Body!

But all till now was on a lighter note. I do/did not for one minute suggest that the people who have been chosen are not deserving or the best available to be chosen. They are nogal good - much respect!!!!

Perhaps though its time that maybe one of the biggest (if not the biggest - believe it or not!) sporting industries in South Africa start contributing towards a sponshorship fund for exactly the reasons we have been discussing. Goodness knows, we spend enough on their products and they are making fortunes in the process (we all know how we being ripped off).

Toppie thats the best suggestion I have read. Just think abour how much money is spent by consumers on buying boats motors etc and then the tackle every year. Surely the industry as a whole can afford to sponser one overseas Protea comp a year.
