Hooks on Chase Spoons

Does anyone know what hooks are used on these spoons?
Reason for asking is after using them twice the hooks seem to be rusting pretty quickly, fantastic spoon just not happy with hook quality.

Will circle hooks work on a spoon?
 cos the norm is to strike a fish to set the hooks and with the circles one normally misses by striking.

I doubt very much that a circle would work. I dont even think I have ever thought about it.

Hi Fritz, what's the best sensible route to go with decent hooks without going over the top otherwise this ends up being a R150 chase spoon.....

Hi QB, the 1 took a bit of a beating with the printed coating getting dented cos I was spinning of a set of rocks, eventually removed the thing and its a normal white metal spoon again, makes you think about paying extra for fancy, off the surf I think would be kinder to the spoon.

Christo - i dont think they use white metal- i think they use normal lead- hence the sticker to add some attractions..

If you have shined the spoon up like you should and have been able to fish with it and it still has the same shine on it, I would say that it is most ceryainly a wm spoon.

If it goes dull within the first couple of casts and I dont mean all the scratches it would get from bumping into the rocks. Then I would say that the lead content in the spoon is high.

Hook wise is really a mater of choice if you are putting your own hooks on. I have been fishing with Daitchi's,Gamakatsu and Mustad. I would not put a Daitchi on because they rust very fast. I have put the later two on mine. You can even go for Owners, but they just cost far to much.
