shimano 20/40 drag issues.

Hi. I am trying to understand how to fix my reel. The drag works perfectly if a fish peels off line but the moment I reel in the drag self loosens.  I have looked a the tutorials and have fixed this reel on numerous occasions. What could be the problem here. It has a bush on the shaft, not a bearing .

Check that the two drag spring washers are in the correct way, they should be () and not ((. the tutorial for the speed master IV is the same set up for the 20/40.
