nothing special about the t flex. dont really know why everyone is jumping for this rod and grinder evolution

only advantage i can think of is the braid for bight detection?. but most people that are using these set ups are comp/club guys who most fish for non ed fish. who the hell needs bight detection fishing for flatfish and sharks?....they pull u flat anyway. ok and also current force on braid compared to mono.

as for distance?....i will put any guy with a grinder and braid away with my medium poseiden and my saltiga 40 with .45 MONO. i know a few eyebrows were raised there.

prove me wrong.....i dont mind getting proven wrong.

grinder sets ups?.....over rated if you ask me.

dont hate what i said (nemesis/eugene/don)....url know im right lol

look....the grinder evolution has its place. for edible and spinning yes. but for non ed fishing.....the good old multiplier with a broomstick will always take first place.

LMAOL pull in larney, I'll bet you one Bosrie's number I'll put for you :clwn Many guys have Grinder setups, but not every one has mastered the cast with it as yet, same with multipliers, you get owes that can cast with it, and then you get guys that can't! Fact is, I'm getting extra distance over my Multiplier with same size bait and sinker, and I'm not using an Ultegra or a Tflex!

Agree with you there, there is no replacing a pole, TN50 and a big bait, thats my first love, but i promise you, a grinder has a place trust me, you will see when you get yours lol :rotfl

ya lytie i will pull in and disgrace u. put me in a grey smash and lets see if the grinder set up will out perform the multiplier. no ways

now im about to say something......listen and absorb

donot even bother using guys like Anand Naiker, nemesis, dean (stringbean), eugene(king gt), angler1 etc to try and prove a point that the grinder set up is so wonderful cos of the catches these guys make on it....cos bottom line is these guys have salt water in their veins and are master anglers....grinder set up or not...they would have still caught those fish...

i will put it on the block for this one

ps...i will never own a set up like that.....i keep it real old school. :sreel:

Looks pretty on the beach lol, nah but seriously, fished in a terrible current this past weekend, the braid helped alot, was throwing a 6oz weedeater, hardly experienced any drift and very small build up off weeds on the braid as compared to the guys around me that had mono, who where throwing 7/8oz and had a jungle around there line! Also when wading chest deep and higher, much easier to throw with the grinder and get good distance. One downfall is the price of braid!!!!!!! Not lekker to get cut off

Hey Habib I agree with you about these top okes who would cane me an my fancy shark extremes and what not if you gave them just some bamboo and bait cotton! But here's the thing guys like you might cane us throwing your multipliers but for average Joe at home its easier to belt a cast as hard as possible with a grinder. No fear of overwinds, smaller diameter braid etc. Casting is one of the main reasons I chose to get one.

Again this distance depends on where you're fishing. EC, Tkei etc pulling power, line capacity, abrasion etc is far more important than throwing past your mate. KZN south coast on the other hand distance can be a big factor so it suits me.

WHAT HAVE I DONE!!!!
Hey outies, the grinder thing is lukker for some and not so lukker for others, i enjoy the new feel and rush and i think trying to catch a langebaan or strand reef smoothie with my ballies kp is another thrill, i have all my multipliers rigged and ready and i have now come right with the grinder not like it was that difficult lol, genuine to mes around but i doubt the ultegras gona last that long after the busses we have been hooking  , so yes we sold that it works and for something diffferent and a thrill we will use it from time to time , i have bought and built three set ups , i use all of them and enjoy it , but eish wether i will relieve my saltiga and dc's from their prime positions in my tackle box is questionable, i throw a hell of a shot with both not sure if anything can beat my 10z sinker 1mm leader and heavy pentagon shot and a saltiga for sliding or an 80z weed eater and throw bait with a medium pentagon and dc 30 , but hey i was curious and went for it, Anand and I still fish conditions that are coducive for braid and grinder so none of our fish were landed near bricks, i must admit im a tackle slut and im proud  :yipee: , lol

Love the comments guys, like reading a mad mag, keep them coming. What happened to the good old days of wading chest deep (Tugela north bank) with a big throw bait on a castmaster and multiplier ? Now that was skill. :crzy :hehe: :hehe: and back breaking

Hey Guys,
Hows it going?
The only reason i put up my whole set up for sale was for a very simple reason... i just dont have the time to be down on the coast on a social basis to experiment and fish with the set up. Im all for the grinder set up and im probaly going to keep it anyway should no one come forward.
Habib bhai, throwing further wth you med and saltiga...does this envolve your line actually attached to the sinker? Parting off doesnt count bhai lol - nay, hear your point and a valid one at that. Ill still continue to pull fish where i can with any set up. The only thing is my mindset cause im not used to the bionic finger and its really pissing me off.
For eg: Last league in East London, i missed the first day due to gastro and i HAD to make up for it on day 2 and 3. Theres just no was im going to duff a throw here and there on my grinder set up for the sake of getting used to it if i know, i need to have a lighting fast work rate to get in and out of the water, pull fish and get my score up.
Needless to say, the grinder set up sat in the lounge for the entire trip.
Nems - Bhai, u using a bionic finger? Then again, you from Mandini right? Tough okes of note lol
Don - In your opinion, what rod would you rate better? The Finnor HMG or the T-Flex?
Sommer wanna go and chuck some lead at some bait boats at the local water gat....  :gt:

Howzit bro, hahaha ja one two tough nuts this side. I don't use a Bionic finger,i feel its a waste of R200 and it puts you're timing off in a cast! Me and most of my friends don't use one, we use those neoprene diving gloves that you get.

listen Eugene...lets not complicate things about wether my sinker is still attached after i cast cos you know its not

you an old school mozam angler and can probably pull fish from a pot hole filled with water on a road :resp: . that bionic finger doesnt look easy to use.

dont be fooled by nemesis been a tough guy. he is as soft as they come. he chows so much curry that after he casts, theres a oil stain on his brief. :lolo:

you guys must get yourself one of these for throwing braid.

I too bought one of those bionic fingers and the first few cast are usualy perfect and incredibly far, untill the arms start getting a little tired and control starts lapsing. Have donated too much lead and many spoons to King Neptune with that thingy so dont use it at all anymore. Prefer using a glove.

gents its not rocket science and the priciple is exactly the same as if youd be using your finger it tackes a few casts to sort out but when waxed it works incredibly weel dont just give up keep trying look at different techniques, i have got it waxed after fishing hard with my thrree set ups , each one having a different sinker and bait size. now they all work for me . Eugene i have had the t -flex for some time but the fish i target are requiring fairly larger baits so i built up a waft zambezi its a stroke 7 slim hmg and it throw a seven ounce and a bomb bait pretty darn far , at tweede baai i require no wading to get to the second sloop if you no what i mean, the t flex just wont handle that pressure , if one has to wade and punt a big bait out no prob ( struisbaai plaat) here the t flex should work well , the advantage is that with chest deep water an overhead punt gona get you more distance than trying to pendulum a big bait ill challenge anyone to come trhow a yellowtail head with fillets from chest deeep water with a pendulum and l will punt overhead with grinder. i also got a waft musselcracker its a slim 5  and matched it with a tica sceptr gx 10000 awesome say light tackle for sandies and blue rays and kobbies extra , but recently proven otherwise i flung a six ounce with maie head and got a 6 kg blackfin and two 10 kg grays at toti so anything is possible . the finnor is great anand has caught three big fish over 80 kg with it and it handles well i just dont like the trigger winch it comes in the way of the finger for me .

Hi Don,
Hear wat you say mate and its valid however just dont get to practse as often as you do :(
Im going to actually have the bionic finger removed. Hate the bloody thing and just dont feel comfortable with it. As for the T-Flex comments, hear what you say but for the purpose intended, im probably only going to throw a macky head/6oz sinker max! Def wont be investing in heavier grinder rods.
Shot for the comments ouens.
Ai Zeyn hahaha, you and your briefs lol

what i have found that if you think its time to release  its time to release , its almost as if the bait and sinker must be ripped from the finger, in other words its such a small movement that is required for an excellent release
