Title: Computer LCD for fishfinder/GPS screen
Post by: jaenswart on July 17, 2010, 07:28:21 PM
Guys,

Is it possible to hook up a monitor to these units? Can it be converted to do that?

I'm more than willing to fork out a new 19" lcd each year after it has rusted up :-)

On the larger Garmins you can, not sure about Lowrance.

I was thinking about building a waterproof compartment with window on my boat, in which I could mount the screen. Then connecting it to the smaller screen (and much cheaper because of small screen), unit. I suppose the smaller units wont support that resolution in any case.

You can view your position live from your Lowrance's NMEA0183 output on your laptop using DrDepth's 3D Bathymetry charts.
