:lolo: Nope not on ice :)
Chaps, need some input here. Quite a few theories with regards to braid not fishable on rocks. Heard that the slightest touch can cause the braid to part. Im a little confused cause on one side, iv heard of guys pulling spotties and rags through the bricks and kelp and then on the other side of the coin, a few guys (with almost a shiver) state they would never fish on the rocks.
What have your tried and tested? :gt:

I think the problem is that guys compare say 30lb mono to 30lb braid. The difference in diameter is such that braid will end up at half the diameter. So think about would yóu fish the rocks with .20mm nylon? Rather compare the diameters of braid and abrasion resistance and I reckon braid will come out tops

its the only thing I use for gallies on the rocks but most are not abrasion resistant except for fireline i wont use it for sharks and the likes off rocks though good mono for that rather.

I use 50lb braid fishing off the rocks for everything and find it strong as hell, you have the odd occasion where you get cut off quick but thats with all lines. Find the braid to be very abrassive and have the fish to prove it. It also all depends on what you targeting off the bricks as fishing for hounds and spotties in some places mono is prefered as it floats more than the braid which sometimes sits on the rock causing instant cut off

Thanks for the replies chaps. Guess the only way to find out is through trial.
