Title: Best maps for South africa and Moz

Does anybody have an opinion as to the best map/charts for our region.
Is it Navionics platinum or Gold (lowrance HDS) or rather something like bluechart v2 vision(garmin).

I have no clue and as they are quite expensive buying the right mapis important.

First off, is it for you and what unit you got. The charts are not compatible.

Secondly, charts for what we do are over rated! As far as I'm concerned a basic chart will still give you contours and will be just fine! Rather take the extra money you would pay for charts and pump it into a proper sounder arrangement or upgrade to a better unit all together!
