Hi Reefman,


Great tutorial!   I've included an edited photo of the handle side cover.   What kind of bearing or bushing is that?  On mine, it looks like a roller bearing filled with epoxy --- can that be right?

Duh.  Sorry.   I put on two pairs of glasses and a headlamp and can now see that it is a plastic cased roller bearing

Yeah Robby, that's the Anti-reverse Roller bearing. It's held in place by a circlip and can be removed. A bit tricky to put back, so only do it if necessary. Also no grease on the bearing otherwise it will fail. Just rub some oil on it to stop corrosion.

Yup the Saltist H versions all have the same size bearings.

Got my 30H rebuilt over the winter.   Got my Rover loaded to the hilt and picked up my girlfriend on 27th of April headed to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a 10 day fishing trip.  Five minutes later someone tried to pass a stopped car in the on coming lane and hit us head on.  We were both going about 45 mph.  Rover knocked the other car back about 35 feet.  We kept going forward and then down an embankment.  We flipped and rolled.  Rover destroyed, rods broken, a big mess.  We're banged up pretty bad, a few broken bones, but will probably be better in a few months.  Probably be a while until the next fishing trip.


Wishing you had such a great tutorial on how to rebuild the human body.
Oh well.  I hope we can try again in the fall.
