Plugs you shouldn't have a problem with as you won't lose them if your knots and line are good. Spoons can be lost to snagging on rocks when doing that very slow retrieve on the bottom for kob. I would take about five plugs for a heavy stick, five for a medium outfit (2 oz), that should be enough. Spoons are another story. As many as you can take is a good answer, rig them with single hooks so that you hook up less on the bricks. One hook on top and one on the bottom.

Spoons are a different story, you may lose quite a few doing a very slow retrieve along the bottom for kob. I would take as many spoons as possible and rig them up with single hooks to get less snag ups on the bottom.

Mainly kob, there are some good sized ones around. Take a beer or two and your rod and go and park off somewhere with a line in the water...

Hi Andz
Just returned from Flamingo Lodge two weeks ago. Was there for approx 8 fishing days.
Firstly, that letter from your employer must be in Portuegese.
Secondly, take along spare coffee grinders and braid/line. We "lost" several well known brand reels. Remember, the fishing can become hectic and should the Garrick get on the bite you might be sorry if you didn't take along a spare coffee grinder. I know of three Exceller reels that became unservicable. I personally had to take mine apart twice and re-grease, etc before using it again. Interestingly enough it was the cheaper models (penn) that lasted!
With regards to the plugs, the plugs that worked best were the white chisel nosed 2 to 3 oz plugs. Some success on lime green and yellow but the white definitely accounted for 80 to 90% of the Garrick (and even Shad) caught. Talking of Shad, they took the V-back spoons mostly. One or two guys had success on dropshot but there are a lot of reefs and you get stuck when you use plastic dropshot. The water was a bit rough also.
My best success on Kob was with plain fresh Chokka. Not even large baits. Best Kobs I caught were between 8 and 17 kg. Best Garrick I caught was 8kg but the largest that was caught during the two weeks was about 12 kg.
I posted a full report on Sealine if you have access to that Forum.
