Title: Joburg to Port St Johns - Best route towing a boat

Will be heading down to Port St Johns later in the year and just want to get a feel for the best road to take towing a boat. Anyone done it recently and can recommend the best route? Joburg-Bloem-Aliwal North-Umthata-Port St Johns seems the best from a road condition perspective. Want to avoid bad potholed roads towing the boat.


Any advice or recent experiences would be appreciated

No need to go to Umtata.
Take the road via the Wild Coast Casino, take note there are a lot of speedhumps. Durban road - Port Edward - Wild coast - Lusikisiki - Port St Johns
Destination is 200 km from Port Edward
