Hey chaps,
We had a bit of a problem with the trusted Shimano Saragosa 8000F. The line roller died on us.... See pic. [I know very poor maintenance, mea culpa]
Apparently Shimano SA doesn't keep parts of "old" models! swr
Went online and ordering parts (including shipping and duties), will be more expensive that buying a new Saragosa 8000 SW A HG from Basil Manning!!!!!
Should I just toss this reel out? Is there any hope of getting it fixed in SA?
Thanks!

Your only hope of fixing that reel is finding a donor reel that has the line roller intact. The chances of finding one are very slim.
With the new SWA version out, this presents a great opportunity to upgrade. This reel is rumoured to having considerable upgrades over a 2019 Stella so that’s how good it is for a R5.5k +/- reel. My vote is toss this one on the shelf in memory of all the good times and fish you caught and get the newer SWA.. 😬
