Title: Targetting Spotted Gully Sharks
Post by: Bamboes-Vis on December 11, 2019, 02:18:15 PM
I have only caught about two hands full of these amazing fish.
I am actually amazed that no one has started a topic on them.

Will you guys please share some info on them.
What is the best:
1) Bait
2) traces and hook sizes
3) What conditions is the best for them?
4) What Structure do they prefer?

What I have seen so far is the larger ones like mullet.

My biggest was 20kg on half a mullet in the bricks (night).
then a 13kg one on mackerel head on the sand (day)

About 5 of around 5kg on prawn/chokka in the bricks (Day)

I have caught one on strepie.

The 3 or so smaller ones I have caught, have all been on pink prawn while scratching for blue fish (Day).

I have read somewhere they are more active at night?

Thanks Lenny.
What crabs do they prefer?

Do they prefer winter of summer months?
And warmer or cooler water?

Any crab you put out for a Crakcer ha ha ha , very frustrating ..

You catch year round here by us , what o have noticed , they can be full up in summer , when the water cools down a bit ...
We often catch them , when the condisions are not 100 for Kob , and water a bit cleaner than your normal cob water .
