just bought this spoon and tried out yesterday.there was a slight wind and wasnt getting my normal distance with my regular bullet spoons so i changed to this
needlenose. Was really surprised at the distance i was getting.it also skips on the surface very nicely on a fast retrieve.was just wondering if anybody on the site has used these spoons and what the target species are.It is longer than a normal 45gr spoon

Hi Reef, tried downloading the pic a number of times but always comes up as an error with a notice that the file is too large.

I was introduced too those spoons more than 20 years ago in Struisbaai. We used them to target Elf (Shad) and it worked VERY well. One morning we spotted a shoal just off the rocks (in front of Poointjie Botter House ) and managed to land over 50 Elf between two of us, only kept a few for breakfast.
Must admit that I have not used a spoon in a loooooong time
