Title: Orange river yellows

I am going camping in the sept holidays on the prange river in richtersveld area. I know the area is quite good for yellow fish. My problem is i have never fiahed for any freah water fiah bar trout. I am taking my fluid double kayak and want to drift down the river fiahing as i go. Also keen to try fly for them.  I am not sure what type of yellows you get rhere. Are they targetted on lure. Worm mielie etc. Also fly wise dry, nymph streamer or what.  Sorry but i am clueless when it xomes to fresh water angling but am keen to give it a bash. Lots of kids with is so i am sure i will be tying lots of knots.

There is loads of Largemouth and Smallmouth down there. Use steamer type flies for the Largemouths yellows. Caddis and Nymph flies for the Smallmouths. Small lures also work for both. Salmo hornets have been known to work.

All of the above.... And if you can get hold of flying ants they are the best yellow bait ever.
Take a pool net with and sift the grassy edges for shrimps. Use small scud hooks on lightweight running trace. Kids will have a blast. Fish the rapids and glides, keep your eyes open. You will catch LOADS  of fish.

and take some chicken livers for the evenings. Will be running your legs off catching barber. kids love it

heard a rumour that yellowfish also likes and meat like viennas or ham.
