Title: Landing Zambezis?
Post by: Monster Line on May 22, 2019, 02:10:17 PM
Hi all,

Since 2017 a number of shark species were gazetted in the TOPS regulations. I just wanted to find out if there is any protection against landing Zambezis?

Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of, according to my knowledge you are just not allowed to targed Great whites. But I'm not to clued up with all the regulations.

Not sure either but speaking to a lawyer friend yesterday who does lots of work with DAFF, who has just returned from the kei doing a bit of fishing and government work, is that there are going to be more regulations in future most likely as drones are causing all sorts of trouble, dead GW's washing up and dead 200kg raggies with mouth full of hooks and traces washing up, recently among others at the spots where the drone fishing has gone big..
Authorities are keeping an eye..so be sure to check out the regulations thoroughly and adhere to them as the shark fraternity's reputation of conservation minded ethic is under scrutiny at the moment..

Only Great Whites and Hammerheads are prohibited species. Ie: You may not land them.
