mmmmmhhh...maybe the fact that they work..always, in any color water, any color skies, anytime of the day, anywhere in the world.

But seriously, for fish I believe it is not the color, but rather the contrast that matters. and nothing has better contrast effect like a red head.

Remember white stays white at depth, but red turn black. So at depth, in effect we are fishing a black and white lure. Best contrast ever
