Post by: Herman Jooste on March 14, 2013, 08:35:04 PM
Hi all. The next Vaal trip will be on the 24th March at Woelwaters.

Anyone and everyone is invited. If you don't have tackle, no sweat, just be there and between us we will sort you out.

Gates open at 06:00, I will bring the mini braai for lunch.

C'mon guys, lets show the guys at Flytalk that we have the geeeeeess. :fshn: :frid :clwn

Herman, given the nature of the celebratory festivities I shall be attending on the evening of the 23rd  :hnthnt: , unfortunately I will have to decline the fishing the next morning.

The Saloon is closed on a Sunday.

We will however have at least 1 mini braai. :-)

What is a bit dissapointing is that there are newbies from Flytalk joining and none from Ultimate.  :dunno:

Maybe the Flytalk okes don't have the resources to go away for the holidays :dunno:

BTW Strafdops for Rory, Pieter ( and it won't be   ) for the next trip, which I fear will only be in October, unless there are some who wish to try their hand at Winter Dry Fly fishing.

Would have loved to join, but I'm in DBN over the weekend.

And would have been an excellent opportunity to get my wading boots from Ettienne.

Nice meeting you as well ( Craig , the bearded Yellow fish warrior )

Bit of a slow morning and not alot to show for our efforts , but we will always get those days. ( 8 blokes = 2 small yellows)

Enjoy your stay and check out the fly fishing section loads of info there .

Thanks very much, O' bearded Yellow fish warrior.  :rck"
It was slow, but standing in the middle of the Vaal (trying, unsuccessfully, to avoid the Vaal shuffle duh ), looking down the expanse of that beautiful river, was one of those moments in life that will stay with me for a long time. It's been a while since I've been so close to mother nature.

Can't wait to see how many fish you and Herman can catch when you're not holding back... ;)

Thanks very much, Ettienne, this forum does seem a lot more vibey than others I've attempted to engage with. And it was nice to meet you as well - I hope you had more luck than we did! I look forward to actually doing some fishing with you in the future.
