Title: Back in action in the Musandam
Post by: Cam Mundy on July 29, 2012, 11:20:22 AM
Thursday was the official start of the Ocean Active season and there was no shortage of volunteers despite the heat! After taking the temperature into consideration I decided that the best course of action would be some light tackle fishing with the small Stradic 6000 and Trevella combos and a pitch bait rod in case any sailfish decided to put in an appearance. As soon as the current started running we were into the action with the GT’s ranging in size from 3 kilo’s to 8 kilos. We also boated a few nice Queenfish, Tuna, Orange spot trevally and had hook ups with a couple of Dorado which spat the hooks and avoided the dinner table!
If anyone is keen to brave the heat and have some fun drop Jon a mail and head out to Dibba remember your sunscreen; a hat and a Pocari Sweat or two!

Cheers Cameron

Nice,

How far north do you go from Dibba for the GT's?

Gavin and I did a rock hopping expedition on the rocks from the last beach at Dibba...

Its more like climbing the mountain...

But we did get a lot of rock cods on bucktail and soft plastics.

The Gavin put a 1.5 once white bucktail on the Shimano Tiger Special and let if fly.

It was not long before he hammered a nice Cuta from the rocks...
