A quick note... fishing was dismal for Micaela and lot's other boats.... the promised SE "brezee" was actually a lot stronger early in the morning and took us a while to get to the grounds... water temp was 26-27o C ...

we managed a nice couta of about 8 kg early in morning and then spent the rest of the day chasing bills out in the deep.... couldn't raise any... wasn't very comfortable for a small boat...  did 77.6 nm and spent 92 L of juice....

2 boats released sails: Fourplay and Nakisai (2x)... let's hear the report on that saily Duarte!

Oh well... the quest continues...

PS: thanks peterblace for those full-house croissants!!!! Made a bad day a bit more bearable!!!!!

sorry for the late report

on Oba Oba same negative result as Michaela...but worst as we didn't get anything
I believe my skipper had the same strategy as John F but in different areas...they talk a lot...I just try to listen but it's chinese their language!!!

we had 3 strikes (no bill seen) the all day and lost a deep diver rapala...who knows what happened there

Four Play released a sailfish, Nakisai had a double strike/double release of sailfish and Mon Ami also released a sailfish
I saw Nakisai's video and the 2nd sailfish to be released was a really big one

big YFT and couta were caught
top fishes were
couta 18.6kg Cormoran
YFT 18.3kg Four Play
YFT 17.9kg Cormoran
YFT 17.8kg Cormoran

loads of small couta and bonitos were also caught (all under 5kg)

John F...my pleasure preparing you your picnic...but in exchange you need to take me for some light tackle fishing
I really want to try my Exceler kit (802 and 4000) out in the blue...and you guys need to be patience and forget about the trolling and the big fishes
;)

Thanks for those numbers peter...

Let's go out next weekend... fishing for the pot... I'll chase a few couta on drift baits and you can do your thing with your light stick... later on we can try trolling for some YFT!?

You up to it?

lets do it!!!

I don't mind doing a mix of everything..as long as I'm able to play a bit with my light stick...
I believe this means I need to prepare picnic...right?

Fishing was a bit slow this weekend in MPT bay, with strong showers and the SE pumping yesterday....

Oliver released a  :billf: on Saturday and the spearos from Clube Naval, shot a 92 Kg marlin on Saturday as well, at Baixo Santa Maria (~45 m) :sadd

A few :billf: have been released in the Easter weekend and also good sized (for our area anyway)  :yft: of 15-18 Kg

Couta are still plentiful and the odd  :dor:

Preparing to go out tomorrow... will "demolish" the couta stock with drift baits and then give it a go at trolling... whatever comes out will be a bonus but want to get a YFT or 2 and maybe a  :dor:

Got back from the club!  <: swr :unhap

Trailer is in such a bad state I don't want to risk it collapsing in the ramp! Can't launch tomorrow!

Seems like the weather will be perfect during the week... let's see if I can fix things .... :-(
