MMSI #2

Theres old threads (2016) on MMSI numbers.

Is it worth getting registered for coastal non-commercial users?

Are there any negatives to NOT entering in the number when purchasing new/second hand VHF DSC radios? Noted second hand units need to be sent back to dealers.

Hi, ....it is a SAMSA requirement. If there is an emergency the unit needs to send your MMSI number with coordinates to some relay station somewhere :dunno:
