tugela mouth resort - end april long weekend

Ps: you might want to consider a fly fishing style buff to cover your mouth while walking. The further you walk your mouth tends to open to allow you to get more air into your system  , now this becomes a bug trap of note specially if you are wearing a head lamp. Have seen a very Green looking Bloke  arriving back at the cars in Vidal. 

Good advice! He also scared all the wild life away during the night. Btw, who was this George guy he was calling?

Looks like you gonne need Boots that are made for walking , how far is the mouth from the resort ?
 

It's about 1km as far as I know. Would also love to fish the estuary off the kayak but you can't leave your car unattended at the parking area at the mouth.

@ LA not very sure, looks relatively close according to pics. if its walking 1 must do, so be it, as long as i have a good few decent pulls

I am keen to try and catch 1, i have neva caught this fish before. so it is on my bucket list. Not many guys know this species.

I have heard the tree trunk stump is a top spot, is this the same spot you refering to in your picture?

Yup the tree stump is about 1.5-2km up the beach North from the resort.
The Mouth is maybe 750-1km South from TMR.

Just use Durban bud, Tugela is 100kms up the drag so what hits Durban at 11am will be at Tugela at 11h25am 

If its a SW if the NW pulls through then its vice versa

Hey bro, use Tinley Manor as a location on Windguru for Tugela.Weather looking good for the Friday Night, fish should chow before the SW comes through, Then Sunday to Tuesday looking lekker.
I might go for a throw Friday night with Ranvir and some friends, will give you a shout if i do, think Ranvir has you on BBM.
Whats chowing now, Grunter around the mouth, Kob coming out at night, Shad in the mornings, and the odd Labote.So make sure you have atleast fresh Chokka and Crackers if you can.Lots of small Spinners and Hammers around to, if you get one, slide it out, as there is a couple gentlemen with Grey Suits swimming around chowing the owes catches.
That log is an epic spot, sometimes it moves, but i think its about 800 to 1km up from TMR at the moment, hot spot for Shad,Johnies, Labote and Kob and Garrick in Winter.
