The handle knob is a Power handle upgrade that I did out the box. Your tackle shop should be able to get one for you.
I haven'y had any other issues with the reel besides the corrosion on the handle itself...

how did you remove the bearing from the drive shaft please

did you use any special tool to remove this bearing or just brute force ?

I used a pair of tweezers fitting lengthways underneath the bearing and pulled upwards.

Grand post as usual! Reefman, during the re-assembly phase on all the reels why do you “replace” so many parts? Should it be “install” or “replace” ?

  Spieks Reefz is definitely not replacing with new parts. Merely reinstalling the cleaned parts

No fancy Camera!

Just a Canon D10 using Macro function.

It's a lot of work though... there are 73 editted photo's that make up the final tut. Probably 100Meg of photo's. These are the best ones, chosen from about 450 photo's taken in High resolution, then cropped, then enhanced, then resampled down from 300px to 72px (to make them smaller for web use), resized from 4000x3000 down to 700x700, text descriptions added, and then saved!!

Then uploaded to the Web... then a post is made, inserting the URL's of each photo into it's proper place... done!!

I'm from Singapore and i am a big fan of spinning reels and Alan Hawk too.


The bottom bushing at the pinion can be upgraded to a bearing. The dimension is 8x12x3.5mm. this upgrade will give the reel better torque similar to X-ship used in current models.

Ok, thanks.  I noted that my line roller got a bushing, can I replace it with a same size ball bearing instead? Is a a line roller upgrade kit for this reel?
